PARIS — The Summer Olympics near the finish line on Day 14. On Thursday, Noah Lyles finished a surprising third in the 200 meters before announcing he had tested positive for the coronavirus and indicating his Paris Games are over. In other track and field events, hurdlers Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Grant Holloway and long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall won gold for Team USA. And Stephen Curry powered the U.S. men’s basketball team to a comeback win over Serbia in a tense semifinal.

PARIS — The Summer Olympics continue Thursday with some of the biggest U.S. stars back in action. The U.S. women’s volleyball team is facing rival Brazil in a semifinal match, which is now even at one set apiece. On Wednesday, Quincy Hall capped a busy medal session in track and field, winning gold in the 400 meters. The U.S. artistic gymnastics team took silver for its first medal since 2004.

In the pool, medals are up for grabs in the men’s 50-meter freestyle, the women’s 200 backstroke and the men’s 200 individual medley. The U.S. men’s soccer team will play in its first Olympic quarterfinal in 24 years, and reigning Wimbledon and French Open champion Carlos Alvarez takes on Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in a men’s tennis semifinal.

Later, women’s gymnastics will take center stage in the all-around final; more medals will be awarded at the pool; and the U.S. women’s basketball team, which had no issues in its opener, will take on Belgium.
