Ali Hofer is living with purpose. She’s a mom, wife, and vice president of the Good Samaritan Foundation in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was 2004 when her life changed forever. “That summer, I was experiencing some unusual bleeding after intercourse and reported it to my OB/GYN at the time when we were living down in the Sioux City area,” Hofer told Sanford Health News. “The bleeding continued to happen,” she said.

April 30, 2025What started as a passion for floral design and the need for a little extra income three years ago now has grown into a brick-and-mortar store in central Sioux Falls. Tania Mejia opened The Flower Bar in the Southway Shopping Center near 29th Street and Minnesota Avenue. “I’ve always loved flowers, but the fact that I can express myself, be creative as I’m building bouquets and designing my own, that’s what really brought it together,” Mejia said.
