Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth used his personal phone to send information about U.S. military operations in Yemen to a 13-person Signal group chat, including his wife and brother, two sources with knowledge of the matter confirmed to NBC News. He did so after having been warned by an aide to be careful not to share sensitive information on an unsecure communications system before the Yemen operation, the sources said.

SAN DIEGO —Two service members killed during a border security mission in New Mexico last week were identified as U.S. Marines based at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County. The U.S. Marine Corps 1st Marine Division identified the two as Lance Cpl. Albert A. Aguilera, 22, of Riverside; and Lance Cpl. Marcelino M. Gamino, 28, of Fresno. They were pronounced dead at University Medical Center of El Paso, the division said in a statement.

For the first time in Army history, a female service member completed the grueling Best Ranger Competition. First Lt. Gabrielle White, a 25-year-old West Point graduate, became the first female ranger ever to compete in the annual three-day, 30-event marathon that unfolded April 11 to 13 at Fort Benning in Georgia. The events included helicopter missions, land navigation, weapon qualification and various physical tests.
