Technology has made it possible for individuals to own a studio, produce and engineer their own music, create virtual orchestras, master with online algorithms, fix issues with Internet searches and… well, work on productions devoid of any contact with other human beings. This has been great for composers, who can easily realize their visions, but it has had the unintended consequence of devaluing teamwork.

There’s an uneasy feeling that something is not quite right with today’s music—and it goes beyond the boilerplate “kids, get off my lawn” you expect from older generations. Why does a younger demographic believe that vinyl sounds better? Why did the 23-year-old server at a local restaurant tell me she preferred 1960s and ’70s music? Yes! 1st week of the month - back up your data! And remember, hard drives aren't as sexy as SSDs, but they offer a **ton** of storage for cheap. If used mostly for archiving every month, they should last a long time. Off-brands can be a problem, though. Probably go Seagate or WD.
