Hey! First week of the month! It's time to...BACK UP YOUR DATA if you haven't done so recently. Image your root drive, too, and run any disk diagnostics for hard drives or SSDs to make sure they're still healthy. Computers can be replaced - data can't, unless it's backed up.

Hey! Nag time! First week of the month - back up your data. All storage is temporary, so just one copy isn't enough. And with the upcoming solar maximum, don't count solely on the cloud - remember that clouds dissipate (seems like a branding error, but I digress 😄)

Okay, I have to admit Twitter isn't as much fun as it used to be...but the monthly nag MUST go on so you don't lose valuable data! So, it's the beginning of the month - whether you use cloud, SSD, hard drives, optical, or some combination thereof, remember to BACK UP YOUR DATA!

Sorry, I missed last month's nag - so now I'm doubling down!! Back up your data, image your drive, dust off your optical drive and do local storage, get an uninterruptible power supply so your SSDs don't die from power problems, and...look both ways before you cross the street.

What goes into making a DAW sound good is what's **not** part of the DAW - mics, acoustics, monitors, direct boxes, cables, and of course, the engineer's skill.

It's time for your monthly nag: Have you backed up your data lately? *No?!?* Then stop reading this immediately, and go do it. Now!!! I never want to hear "My drive died and I've lost everything!" I want to hear "Glad I followed Craig's advice, my data was safely backed up 😀"

All that matters to listeners about music is the emotional impact it has on them. They don’t care what you did to produce that emotional impact.

The antidote to fear is knowledge.
