On a recent episode of Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling’s TalkVille podcast, they had the show’s creator Al Gough as a call-in guest, and among the topics discussed was the Smallville animated project that they’ve been trying to get off the ground. Unfortunately, Gough brought up the reality that especially with regime changes at the studio, it may be a while. “Regime change” refers to changes in leadership at the studio or network.

Jeannot Szwarc, who first dipped into the world of all things Super with the 1984 Supergirl movie and later served as director for over a dozen episodes of Smallville, has passed away, as revealed by an article at The Daily Jaws website. He was 85 years old. Szwarc had a long list of credits to his name, including the film Somewhere in Time starring Christopher Reeve, Jaws 2, episodes of The Rockford Files, Heroes, Supernatural and more.

Today, Creation Entertainment revealed that Alaina Huffman (Dinah Lance, the Black Canary) has been added to their second “Salute to Smallville” convention happening in Chicago in September 2025. This will offer fans the opportunity to meet her and purchase autograph and photo opportunities, as well as hearing stories from her in dedicated panels.
