Raith Rovers director Ruaridh Kilgour has revealed ambitious plans to introduce a new club shop at Stark’s Park, which could potentially provide a welcome income boost for the Kirkcaldy club as they continue their development. “We’re looking at creating a new club shop,” Kilgour – part of the board which has been in place at the William Hill Championship club since May 2023 – told Raith TV. “The existing club shop’s just a bit too small. Two youngsters with a combined age of only 36 have both committed their immediate futures to Raith Rovers. The Stark’s Park club announced on Saturday that 20-year-old left-back Callum Hannah – who has been with the club since leaving Kirkcaldy & Dysart in May 2023 – had signed a one-year contract extension, while Raith Rovers Community Club midfielder Logan Raeside, 16, had also penned a deal with the first team until summer 2026.

Just four weeks after being defeated 2-0 by Musselburgh Athletic in the season-ending 2024-2025 League Cup final, Kirkcaldy & Dysart will play their first pre-season friendly at home to Kelty Hearts this weekend. K & D manager Conrad Courts and his players – who finished seventh in the EoS first division last season and were also runners-up in the Alex Jack Cup, losing 1-0 to Whitburn in the final – host the Scottish League One outfit this Saturday in a 3pm kick-off at The Bodywyse Autocare Park.

The dad of Scotland’s newest DP World Tour winner Connor Syme has revealed that his Kirkcaldy-born son had to be bribed to play golf as a kid, with football being his preference as he had a trial with Glasgow giants Rangers. Stuart Syme had suggested that the young Connor wasn’t destined for a professional career in football despite that experience with the Govan club, but the older man didn’t feel he could be the person to tell him that. “Absolutely not,” Stuart admitted, laughing.
