By Craig Hoffman via Sheboygan Sun, Destiny Duesterbeck made her second state appearance for this school year and this time she comes home with some bling. The junior from Sheboygan North stood proudly on the awards podium at Roger Harring Stadium of UW-La Crosse with a silver medal around her neck. Duesterbeck placed second in the shot put Friday at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships.
Kiel-Freedom Boys Basketball Sectional Final Moved to Manitowoc

Due to the great demand for tickets, Saturday's WIAA Division 3 Boys Basketball Sectional Championship Game between two top seeded teams Kiel and Freedom has been moved from Chilton High School to the JFK Fieldhouse at Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Game time remains at 1 pm. Both schools were allotted 900 tickets for when the game was at Chilton. Kiel sold all 900 in a matter of four hours Thursday.

Halftime couldn't come soon enough for the Kiel Raider boys basketball team as their undefeated record was in jeopardy against Appleton Xavier. But a resilient Raider squad found the offense it needed and turned up the heat defensively in the second half as a 23-17 halftime deficit turned into an unexpected lopsided victory over Xavier, ranked fourth in the state, in a WIAA Division 3 Sectional Semifinal before a standing room-only crowd Wednesday night at Brillion.

Eyan Dessellier is on the verge of Kiel wrestling history. The senior posted a pair of victories Friday at the 80th Annual WIAA State Individual Wrestling Championships at the Kohl Center in Madison and with it comes the opportunity to become the fourth Kiel state champion in the sport. His 8-1 Division 2 semifinal win over Conner Melton of Spooner/Webster Friday night advances him to the finals of the 165 pound weight class.

Seven is suppose to be a lucky number. Don't tell that to New Holstein and Chilton girls basketball teams. Both came into their WIAA regional openers as seven seeds and favored to beat the tenth seeded schools they were hosting. Seven proved to be very unlucky in both cases.
Kiel's Moore 3rd at WIAA D2 Diving: BVC's Schneider 9th

Third time was the charm for Kiel diver Sawyer Moore. After coming close to earning a top six finish and medal, Moore accomplished one of his major goals. The junior placed third Friday afternoon at the WIAA Division 2 State Diving Championships at Waukesha South High School. Moore started off slow as he was ninth after the first five dives, but then dives six through eight skyrocketed him up to third and he held onto that position for the final three dives ending with a score of 336.90 points.

The 100th Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Swimming and Diving Championships will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17, at Waukesha South High School in Waukesha, Wis. The Kiel/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Brillion/Valders/Chilton teams will be well represented when the Division 2 field convenes Friday afternoon.

With Chilton/Hilbert clinging to a one-point lead late in their match with Two Rivers, Hudson Ludwig had all the pressure on him to keep C/H on top. He came through big time. Ludwig pinned Logan Hansen midway through the second period of their 150 pound match that clinched the team win and gave the TigerWolves the regular season dual title in Eastern Wisconsin Conference wrestling. Two Rivers and Kiel could have tied C/H with a TR win, but Chilton/Hilbert came out on top, 45-32.
