Over the past two years, Chris Getz has shown that he isn’t afraid to have a ton of guys in camp, especially from outside of the organization. When most starting spots for the team aren’t set in stone, it can create an intense Spring Training competition, which is great to push the young prospects in the organization. During the last rebuild it felt like most of the prospects were given a spot on the roster with little competition, so it is best to change that now.

The White Sox are at the point in their rebuild where they need to be turning over every single stone to see if there are players that can contribute to the major league team when the team is competitive. One of those players is none other than Oscar Colas. The former top-100 prospect has had an up and down career with the White Sox, as after he was sent down to the minor leagues in 2023, he hasn’t seemed to get a fair shot at another opportunity.
