    Full road closures are expected along Interstate 24 at the popular east loop in Nashville for a weekend paving project from June 20-23, the Tennessee Department of Transportation said. Closures are planned from the Interstate 65 split to the Interstate 40 merge, TDOT said. What's the project? In addition to road paving, TDOT spokesperson Erin Zeigler said bridge repair is planned that will include the installation of expansion joints.

    A teen wounded during a Dec. 22 shooting at a North Nashville apartment died of his injuries June 17, police said. Seantrez Smith, 19, was shot multiple times when three masked men appeared from a breezeway, confronted Smith and opened fire at the Cumberland View Apartments, police said. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he remained hospitalized until his death. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

    An Old Hickory man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 81-year-old man who went missing from his North Carolina home in August 2024. Nicolai Chisala Hubberling, 21, is facing a first-degree murder charge after police in Bladen County, North Carolina said an anonymous tip in April led to a connection between Hubberling and William Scott Lowry, of Ammon, North Carolina. Lowry was last seen walking on FL. McDaniel Road near his home.
