Metro Nashville Police officers are investigating after a Drug Enforcement Administration agent opened fire during a drug raid outside a Midtown hotel, and one of the suspects was left fatally wounded. The shooting was first reported just after 6 a.m. April 16 in the 100 block of 29th Avenue North, near the Fairfield Inn and Suites and about a block from Centennial Park.

Metro Nashville Police have identified a missing Putnam County woman as the victim of a Friday fatal shooting in Hermitage. The woman, identified as Cassidy Jackson, 23, was found lying unconscious in Rachels Lane with "trauma to the head," police said in a Saturday release. Jackson was reported missing by her family on Saturday. She was found with no personal items on her and was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where she died.

Police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman in the parking lot of Chadwell Elementary School in Madison. Officers were dispatched to 321 Port Drive, the school's address at 5:57 a.m., 321 for the report of a cutting or stabbing in progress. Police say the woman arrived for work Monday and was attacked in what they said is a domestic violence incident. Police said in a social media post they are searching for the woman's estranged husband.

It's going to be legen-dairy April 12 in Nashville as the annual Moosic City Dairy Dash hosts its 25th anniversary. The race, held at 2200 Rosa L. Parks Blvd., is expected to surpass $2 million raised for local nonprofit organizations over the years. "For 25 years, the Moosic City Dairy Dash has brought the community together to support life-changing causes," Mark Ezell, president of the Purity Foundation and the Purity Moosic City Dairy Dash, said in a release.

Nashville police cold case unit's investigation into the 1985 murder of two women found in shallow dirt graves inside a home in November 1987 now have a forensic rendering of what she may have looked like thanks to new technology. The women were both identified as escorts picked up by James Shaffer on the weekend of July 4, 1985. Shaffer confessed to killed the unidentified females and burying them in a dirt floor of the basement of a Charlotte Avenue home.
