Lucid Group Inc. has agreed to take over the headquarters and electric truck factory previously belonging to Nikola Corp., the manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. In addition to snapping up Nikola’s former main office in Phoenix and its manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Arizona, Lucid said Friday it plans to offer jobs to more than 300 former Nikola employees. The agreement is subject to approval by the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The UK government has relaxed its targets for electric vehicles after a chorus of complaints from the automotive industry that the sales quotas are out of sync with consumer appetite. Under Britain’s zero-emission vehicle mandate, a steadily growing proportion of the cars and vans that each manufacturer sells in the UK needs to be electric.
