    The Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250) is in charge of coordinating events throughout Virginia that will celebrate the key moments leading to The American Revolution and Independence Day.     Regardless of how and when you vote, the process of getting the ballot into the hands of the voter is more involved than you might think. Anna Cloeter, Director of Elections for Roanoke County, says in each election, there’s a lot to do in a short amount of time, “Due to the condensed timeframe for candidate certifications, we have about a week to prepare and proof ballots for the upcoming presidential election."Ballots may contain national, state, and local races, propositions and referenda.

D-Day Memorial President and CEO April Cheek-Messier told me about their latest offering, the Distinguished Speakers Series, which will educate and entertain. “Where our Lunch Box Lectures are usually at noon, the distinguished speaker comes in an evening event where we have a dessert reception.
