IntroductionPosttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a disabling psychiatric condition characterized by re-experiencing symptoms, avoidance of trauma-related stimuli, negative alterations in cognition and mood, and hyperarousal (Al Jowf et al., 2022; Bryant et al., 2023). Given the debilitating nature of PTSD, considerable research has investigated factors contributing to the development, maintenance and treatment of this disorder (e.g., Tortella-Feliu et al., 2019; Forbes et al., 2020).
