Proposed cuts to Social Security threaten many of Milwaukee County's older adults. The Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, is proposing closing Social Security offices and laying off staff. These cuts would negatively impact seniors who rely on Social Security for essential needs. We write in defense of Milwaukee County’s 190,000 older adults, many of whom fear that their lives and livelihoods are threatened by proposed cuts to Social Security.
