To investigate the hormonal response of P. leopardus to cold stress, the level of ACTH and cortisol were quantified using ELISA kits (Fig. 2). Compared with the 25 °C (control) group, the levels of serum ACTH and cortisol showed an increasing trend in 19 °C, 13 °C and R-25 °C groups. Despite no significant difference in SOD activity during the cooling process, a notable rise in SOD activity was observed upon returning the water temperature to 25 °C (Fig. 2).
