There have been a litany of nasty faction wars throughout wrestling history. If the goal from a booking standpoint is to have a faction help make one or more top stars, then battles between warring factions mean more, and multiple stars get made in the process. Even makeshift “factions” like Sting and friends, or nowadays, Cody and his friends, all get great storylines during a faction war and coming out of it.
