The crime procedural with comedic undertones centers on Lewis Einstein (Matthew Gray Gubler), a tenured professor who coasts through life with little ambition. According to Variety, “Einstein” was pushed from its original fall 2025 launch and is now set to premiere in fall 2026, giving the showrunners plenty of time to write and shoot the first season.
