The presence of pharmaceutical compounds in aquatic environments poses a significant and escalating concern, having an adverse impact on both ecological balance and human health (Chaturvedi et al., 2021). These compounds can be released to the environment from various sources including wastewater discharge, agricultural runoff, or improper disposal, and can persist in waterways accumulating during long periods of time (Zenker et al., 2014).
