Insta360 has announced the Ace Pro 2, its newest action camera and successor to its Ace Pro model. Although similar in appearance to its predecessor, the Ace Pro 2 includes some notable upgrades. The Ace Pro 2's camera is built around a Type 1/1.3 (9.6 x 7.2mm) image sensor, which can capture up to 8K video or 50MP photos. Insta360 claims the camera can deliver up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range.

The Natural History Museum has announced the winners of its prestigious competition. This year, the museum received a record-breaking 59,228 entries from 117 countries and territories and granted awards to 100 photos. The two Grand Title winners were selected from 18 category winners. Celebrating its 60th year, Wildlife Photographer of the Year is developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London.

Here at DPReview, we love DIY photography projects, and one recently came to our attention that we just had to share. Boston-based engineer and photographer Wenting Zhang has been experimenting with DIY electronics for over a decade and also loves taking photos, so building his own camera was a natural extension of these interests. "I initially had the idea of building my own camera during middle school. Back then, I wasn't allowed to use my parents' camera and couldn't afford a real camera.

It's time to prepare for another DPReview Editors' Choice photo challenge. This time, we're celebrating the 'blue hour,' a period shortly before sunrise or after sunset when the sun is below the horizon but still provides enough light to make the sky appear deep blue in photos. For this challenge, shoot and submit one or more blue hour photos. They don't need to be taken someplace exotic, but creativity is encouraged. You can enter up to three photos in this challenge.

Ten years ago today, in 2014, Samsung announced its flagship mirrorless camera, the NX1. Built around Samsung's own 28MP APS-C BSI-CMOS sensor, the NX1 arrived with a level of performance not previously seen in a mirrorless camera. The NX1 featured a hybrid autofocus system with phase-detect AF points across 90% of the frame, 15fps burst shooting (along with an AF system that could keep up), 4K video and impressive wireless and Bluetooth connectivity.

The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) has announced the winners of its 17th annual photo competition, showcasing photos shot entirely on iPhones. Winners were selected across 14 categories, ranging from people to cityscapes, in addition to the overall Grand Prize and First, Second, and Third Prize winners.
