On a recent trip to Norway, I had the opportunity to see the green glow, from Northern Lights, floating in the sky, but the Northern Lights weren't exactly what everyone talks about. The entire sky wasn't lit up with a variety of colors, but a few large, green streaks were crossing the sky. So, I wanted to clear up any misconceptions that you might have about the Northern Lights to level set your expectations if you travel to see this natural phenomenon.

Two weeks flew by like never before and our vacation in Alaska was soon to be over. We used a van to road trip the Kenai Peninsula and Denali National Park, making stops in Seward, Kenai Lake, and Homer, and even took a water taxi over to Halibut Cove to stay at Stillpoint Lodge. As we repack our bags and prepare to leave America's Last Frontier, I find myself asking the same question, "How long do I need to vacation in Alaska?"The state is massive and getting around isn't quick.

My thighs still burned from the previous three days of skiing at Kaya Palazzo Kartalkaya, so walking through the Istanbul airport looking for the Turkish Airlines business lounge with a waddle was done with pride. Craving my last bites of Turkish cuisine and indulging in the surplus of incredible deserts I lazily slumped into a lounge chair. I could certainly fall asleep right now, I thought to myself. Forcing my eyes open, I caught the departure screen. My flight was boarding.

Bouncing in the boat as we headed for our snorkeling spot around the Turneffe Atoll in Belize, I looked around at the group who were prepping their masks with defog and wiggling their feet into their fins. Soon, we would plunge beneath the surface and explore the colorfully stunning corals of Belize's reefs. But, they all had one thing I did not, a rash guard. The water in Belize is warm and they didn't plan to surf, so I didn't understand why they had on rash guards.

When I planned the long weekend road trip to Big Sur, my uncle told me he would never do the drive again, "Big Sur is one of the scariest drives I've ever done." I overconfidently laughed as he retold his stories from the winding roads of the Pacific Coast Highway in the Big Sur area. Now, it was payback. The morning was dark. The visibility was low as the headlights reflected at me in the fog. Twisting and turning our way towards Bixby Bridge, we wanted to beat the crowds.
