JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. - A 44-year-old Central Point area man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl. He had previously assaulted her sister in a separate 2020 case involving a dog shock collar. Mark Alan McSorley was sentenced June 18th to 69 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. - A unique partnership between Jackson County Mental Health and Mercy Flights is providing a new model for responding to behavioral health emergencies, aimed at reducing reliance on law enforcement and emergency rooms. Launched in 2016, the Mobile Crisis Response Team pairs mental health professionals with specially trained paramedics and EMTs to respond to crisis situations. Jackson County health partnered with Mercy Flights in 2022.

MEDFORD, Ore. - A national day of protest is expected to reach downtown Medford on Saturday as part of the “No Kings” movement. Rallies being held to protest President Donald Trump and his policies. Demonstrations are also planned in Grants Pass, Klamath Falls, Yreka, Mt. Shasta and a non-affiliated event in Jacksonville. The Medford event is set to take place on McAndrews Road between Crater Lake Avenue and Biddle Road between 10 a.m. and noon.
