ASHLAND, Ore. - The parents of a young child who they say was abused at an Ashland preschool are breaking their silence. The family, whose daughter was a student at Children’s World: A Bilingual Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten, filed a $27 million civil lawsuit on Thursday against the school, claiming administrators failed to enforce policies that could have prevented years of abuse by teacher Craig Johnson.

Medford, Ore– A Medford man has been sentenced to 40 months in prison after pleading guilty to arson related to a butane honey oil (BHO) explosion that rocked a local homeless shelter last fall. Steven Perron, 56, admitted to manufacturing marijuana extract inside his tent at Rogue Retreat Crossings when the explosion occurred on October 16, 2024.

MEDFORD, Ore. –Representatives from Kids Unlimited traveled to the Moda Center to celebrate a major win off the court. The organization was among 13 recipients of the Trailblazers Foundation’s Take It To The Court for Education grant program, which awarded $100,000 in funding to support youth and education initiatives across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Kids Unlimited received a $10,000 grant to fund a unique culinary project called Food for Thoughtfulness.

This year’s event is taking place on Friday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m. for $3 in the Rose Street Theater. The showcase helps support their sponsored Sparrow Emiliano who is a courageous young boy facing health challenges. Emiliano, who is two years old, lives with epilepsy and visual impairments.
