    Ben Gardiner has been confirmed as Mal Meninga's first assistant coach at the Perth Bears. Gardiner spent two years at the Panthers and was a part of the 2023 and 2024 premierships, and is also the Samoa head coach. At first grade level, he has also worked with the Rabbitohs and Tigers before moving to the Panthers. He was also coach of the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup.

The Commission's new powers will give it the authority to come over the top of the match review committee to upgrade or downgrade charges, or even lay fresh ones themselves.     Game two of the 2025 State of Origin series will kick off at 8pm in Australia's eastern states (AEST). The game will kick off at 6pm local time at Perth's Optus Stadium. That equates to a 7.30pm start in South Australia and the NT, and 8pm across the eastern states. The game can be viewed live and exclusively on Nine's channels. NSW lead the series 1-0 after a victory in game one last month at Suncorp Stadium.

    The intra-team rivalry between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris has exploded after the McLaren duo crashed in the closing laps of the Canadian Grand Prix. With four laps to go, the pair were battling one another for fourth spot when they went side-by-side down the long back straight. Piastri kept the advantage through the final chicane. Norris then got a great run on his teammate down the pit straight, and virtually drove straight up the back of Piastri.
