After just launching a few days ago, the brand-new Pixel 9a is now eligible to enroll in the Android 16 Beta with the release of Beta 4. Since it was officially put on store shelves, the device has received a couple of updates, but these were limited to the stable Android 15 channel. If you do happen to have the device, you can get a taste of the next release, which is expected to drop in stable channels at some point in Q3 2025.

A minor bug with the selfie camera on the Pixel 9a means that if you attempt to take photos using the front-facing system in low light scenarios, you might see the image preview flicker before hitting the shutter button. [Update 04/17]: The Pixel Camera 9.8 update is now rolling out widely. This issue is now marked as resolved with no issues persisting with camera flicker as confirmed by the /u/PixelCommunity account over on Reddit.
