The Arizona Senate passed House Bill 2704 aiming to fund Chase Field renovations late Thursday night. While Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall sees the clouds parting for the D-backs to find a long-term solution for their home, he believes some of the 11 dissenting voters in the Senate continue to misunderstand how the funding will be used. “(The money’s) not going to us. It’s going into a building that is a public asset,” Hall told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show on Friday.

PHOENIX — This year’s Prescott rodeo festival will celebrate the legacy of women who have contributed to the sport throughout its history. The World’s Oldest Rodeo, hosted by Prescott Frontier Days, Inc. since 1888, is in its 138th edition. It will feature eight central rodeo performances and a downtown parade during Fourth of July week. The parade’s theme is “Tipping Our Hats to the Women in Rodeo,” and 96-year-old Nancy Sheppard will be honored as grand marshal.

PHOENIX — The Arizona Attorney General’s Office recently launched an elder abuse registry to help families and victims find justice, according to officials. The public can browse the registry to find records of allegations and complaints, including abuse against “vulnerable adults,” filed as far back as November 2018, according to a Monday announcement from the office.

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was issued Monday for a 71-year-old woman with a medical condition last seen in Phoenix, according to the Department of Public Safety. Erlinda Lopez was last seen on Wednesday near McDowell Road and 27th Avenue. The 5-foot-4, 120-pound woman with gray hair and brown eyes was wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts when last seen. Lopez can become lost or easily confused due to a medical condition.
