Jorge Perez (33-4, 26 KOs) pulled off a big upset, defeating previously unbeaten junior middleweight contender Charles Conwell (21-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night in their co-feature bout at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California. The lanky 6’0″ Perez fought a great fight, going to the body, weakening Conwell with those shots. In response, Conwell spent much of the fight mauling Perez, holding and throwing short punches on the inside.

Edgar Berlanga reportedly heading toward signing with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) in a deal that will change his career. The highly ranked super middleweight contender Berlanga (23-1, 18 KOs) is a promotional free agent and wants to sign with a company that will secure him “the biggest bag.” PBC appears to be the one that the Brooklyn, New York native will be going to. According to @cesarseda, Berlanga, 27, will be signing a deal with PBC.
