Arsenal loanee Fabio Vieira helped Porto to a vital win over Moreirense on Friday, providing an assist as his team climbed the table into third. Porto have already missed out on Champions League qualification, so the remainder of their season is focused entirely on securing a third-place finish and Europa League football for next season. Their task was made more difficult in the early stages of Friday’s game against Moreirense, with Yan Maranhao giving the away side the lead.

Following their last-16 win over Newcastle United, the Arsenal u21s faced Manchester City away from home in Saturday’s Premier League 2 play-off quarter-final. City were the first-place team in the regular season, finishing seven places and 14 points above Arsenal. This was never going to be an easy game, particularly away from home. Yet Arsenal looked like winning the match for much of the 90 minutes, with Khayon Edwards opening the scoring just 50 seconds in.

Arteta is constantly saying stuff like this but then he’ll make some off-hand comment about the opposition goalkeeper having a good game and Twitter will explode with “excuses again!!!”

🚨👏🏻 Mikel Arteta: “We will give Liverpool a guard of honour. They deserve it. They have been the better team, they have been the most consistent”. “That is the sport, when somebody is better then you have to applaud and accept and try to reach that level”. https://t.co/KWMblo5sZI
