In the alley next to the new Johnson County Center of the Arts Gallery on Main, a group of artists are at work on the latest addition to Johnson County’s Mural Mile. A face is roughly outlined, and a wagon wheel is emerging, but the picture has yet to form. The Center’s director, Cristy Dunn, and Communications Director, Lewis Chapman, are conferring on the inspiration images, while Dunn’s son, Andrew Matherly, and J.P. Burnham work on bringing detail into focus.

In the race for Johnson County Sheriff, Clifton Worley, who has been interim Sheriff since Eddie Tester's untimely death in August 2023, defeated Johnny Roberts and Thomas TJ Brown. As the final results came in, Worley was in the parking lot with Brenda Tester, Eddie’s widow, who has been a strong supporter. It was an emotional moment for them both, as Worley said how much her support has meant to him.
