John Steinbeck, auteur américain connu notamment pour son roman « Les raisins de la colère », a dit : « Il est fréquent qu’un problème que l’on trouve ardu le soir se trouve résolu le matin, après que la commission du sommeil ait travaillé dessus. » Et Steinbeck n’est pas le seul à penser avoir fait de grands progrès pendant son sommeil – c’est aussi le cas d’Einstein et Mendeleïev par exemple.
