DAN THE FAN: We're just not making net gains WHILST sat in the Town End flicking through the programme at half-time last Saturday, I was almost certain Town would be following up their impressive showing at Bolton with a home win over Peterborough. All four of the new recruits enjoyed a good first half, with Ben Gladwin and Charlie Colkett running the midfield, Islam Feruz adding some much-needed pace up front, and left-back Fankaty Dabo showing why he has a big future ahead of him.

TOWN’S recent improvement at home continued last weekend as Luke Norris’ first league goal for the club helped Tim Sherwood’s side to a credible draw over play-off chasing Fleetwood Town. It’s fair to say Norris has endured a poor first six months at the County Ground, but that hasn’t put off the management at Town as he’s now made the most outfield appearances at the club this season. That sentence pretty much sums up our 2016/17 campaign in a nutshell.

LAST weekend Swindon started to dispel some lingering fan fears after the recent derby horror shows with a victory over Oldham. However, three days later they managed to dampen any new found hope. On Saturday, at Boundary Park, Town came up against a terrible Oldham side and did the job they needed to do. That should’ve resulted in bringing back belief to the County Ground on Tuesday and out perform Northampton. But once again we witnessed the opposite.

IT SEEMS as though Swindon have firmly put their embarrassing FA Cup exit to Eastleigh behind them, following up their hard-earned away point at Southend with an impressive win last weekend against Bradford City. It wasn’t a performance that will live long in the memory - but it was by far the hardest-working Town has looked at home this season - something that’s been missing far too often. Is the higher recent work rate the Tim Sherwood factor?
