If Donald Trump wins in November, he won’t have four years to enact his agenda. He’ll have one: 2025. Trump’s political capital will never be greater during his second term than at its start, most likely backed by Republican control of the House and Senate. The most stressful, most painful—and most important—domestic initiatives of Trump’s presidency must be pursued and substantially accomplished in his first year back in office.

In spite of the fact we seem to be in the throes of a perpetual winter, or perhaps because of it, tiki culture in Boston is booming. And it has been for some time. Cocktail consultant, DJ, and all-around bar god Brother Cleve knows this, as he's been in the vortex of the storm since it began on the local front back during his days at the famed B-Side Lounge in Cambridge (now home to Lord Hobo).

Stepping into the Boston outpost of Serafina, the international chain of Italian eateries with a flair for killer pizza and fresh-made pastas, is a little like entering the Italian cousin to Fort Point's Bastille Kitchen. And that makes sense. Serafina has come to town in partnership with Boston nightlife impresario Seth Greenberg, also involved in Bastille Kitchen (as were Serafina's designers). GM and bar manager Roberto Porsia also helped steer the cocktail program at both spots.

One would think that a marquee, world-famous chef's first foray into the Hub's dining sphere would bring with it all manner of hype and hyperbole, and a place to drop an entire week's pay in a single dinner. While the former was definitely true for Mario Batali and partner Joe Bastianich's just-opened Seaport eatery, Babbo Pizzeria, the latter thankfully isn't quite happening. Barely open a few weeks, the restaurant has already attracted both cheers and jeers from foodies and the media alike.

Whether or not you recognize his name, chances are you know Dom Irrera. If you are the type of Seinfeld fan who knows the whole series by heart (is there any other kind?), you know him as Ronnie the prop comic from the episode called "The Fire." If you have seen The Big Lebowski the average number of times that most viewers have - i.e., at least a dozen - then you have Tony the chauffeur's joke to The Dude committed to memory.

Strip by Strega, the opulent throwback steakhouse with Art Deco touches, deep leather booths, and a hotel-adjacent bar (the back door opens into the lobby at the Park Plaza hotel) is now open. But considering it's owned by Nick Varano, he of many Italian restaurants throughout the North End, the waterfront, and north of Boston, you probably know that already. The man likes to throw a party.

Being in the presence of Josh Smith, owner of Moody's Delicatessen in Waltham and its gastropub conjoined twin restaurant next door-Moody's Backroom, which opened in early April-is being the presence of a true meat-centric bon vivant. "It's just the best thing in the world getting to start your day lighting a big fire," he says while loading and igniting wood in his hulking custom copper-top oven. "Fucking primal. Look at that.
