Our VFW Post was recently honored at the Tennessee VFW State Department for being the Tennessee Honor Post for the third year in a row. It is given to the Post with highest membership numbers as of Dec 31st, each year. Mountain City closed out on Dec 31st with 142% membership which placed them number one in the state and number two in Division 10 Nationally.

NAVAL AIR STATION OCEANA, Va. – After almost months of high-tempo combat against Houthi missiles and drones in the Red Sea, the nine squadrons attached to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) returned home on Friday. Flying low over this southeastern Virginia base 12 F/A-18E Super Hornets attached to the “Rampagers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 84 touched down one by one and taxied to nearby hangars.

The Senate on Thursday passed a bill that would extend and expand the federal legislation that financially compensates people harmed by radioactive material used to build the U.S. nuclear arsenal. The measure passed 69-30 with one senator not voting. President Joe Biden (D) on Tuesday said he would sign the bill.
