It has been confirmed that Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury. The Premier League club have now issued an official statement recognising the extent of the injury, which looks set to rule him out for the remainder of the season. "Manchester United can confirm that Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury to his cruciate ligament in Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace," the statement read.

Iga Swiatek has accepted a one-month suspension from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) after testing positive for a banned substance. The world No. 2 failed a doping test for the prohibited substance trimetazidine (TMZ) in an out-of-competition sample in August 2024. The ITIA offered Swiatek a one-month suspension on 27 November 2024, which she accepted.
