    Chris Landrum, founder and organizer of the Help the Hungry bake sale and fundraiser, was honored last Friday at a luncheon held at the United Methodist Church in Farmington. State Representative Dale Wright (R-117) presented Landrum with the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award for 2024. Chris was selected by then-Lt. Gov. Kehoe for her dedicated service to the community. The Help the Hungry project, now in its 20th year, has raised over $1.2 million for the area food banks.

    A 13.72% voter turnout on Tuesday returned two mayoral incumbents to office and chose a newcomer in another contest. Desloge Mayor Pete Pasternak overcame a stout campaign from businessman Bob Monks and coasted to an easy victory with 67.69% of the vote. In Park Hills, incumbent Stacey Easter prevailed in a 3-way race with two other former mayors, winning 279 votes, 241 for Daniel Naucke, and 45 for David Easter.
