    The latest monthly statistical report of the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics shows a deadly December on Australian roads. 113 people lost their lives in December, 6.8 per cent higher than the average for December over the previous five years. The 2024 calendar year saw a total of 1,300 lives lost on Australian roads, a 3.3 per cent increase on 2023.

    $55 million is available to co-fund projects that will fix mobile phone blackspots to provide new and improved mobile coverage in regional and remote areas of Australia. Dan Tehan, the Member for Wannon, is encouraging councils and communities in Wannon to identify areas or locations where mobile phone blackspots exist. “I am encouraging constituents in Wannon to identify potential projects or locations which would benefit from new and improved coverage,” Mr Tehan said.
