The reconstruction of the Interstate 70 Business Loop between Main Street and Third Street is on schedule and is expected to be completed in late fall of this year. United Companies, the contractor working with the Colorado Department of Transportation on the project, is in the process of installing storm drainage infrastructure south of Main Street, according to CDOT Grand Junction Resident Engineer Kaity Clark.

Kurtis Minder, CEO of cybersecurity firm GroupSense, said he has noticed a recent increase in offers to sell classified government data, as well as access to government systems.

Earlier this year, Jeanine Camp was traipsing through the Oregon wilderness with her German Shepherd Roxanne, but this wasn’t a recreational outing. Roxanne was working — trying to find a missing person who was presumed dead. Camp, a Grand Junction resident and volunteer with Mesa County Search and Rescue, has been going out looking for missing and injured people in the wilderness for the last nine years. “I used to be an avid rock climber,” Camp said.

The Grand Junction Regional Airport is seeing a smaller percentage of passengers using alternative airports in the state compared to the years prior to the pandemic, according to a report given to the Airport Authority board Tuesday. Harrison Earl with Crawford, Murphy and Tilly presented an update on the airport’s leakage study, which looks at which airports local residents and visitors use to travel in the region.
