ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A line of strong to severe thunderstorms brought gusty winds and large hail to parts of north Georgia, but as expected, the line weakened greatly as it approached our area, bringing only light to moderate rainfall to parts of south Georgia. That rainfall and associated cloud cover will clear the area later this morning, but sunny skies will be countered by gusty northwest winds that will keep highs into the mid to upper 70s.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - After a rough start to the week, the cold front that brought Monday’s severe weather has delivered a cool and dry air mass to South Georgia for this week. Temperatures are primarily in the 40s this morning and will reach highs in the mid to upper 70s today, actually near average levels for this time of year.

The cold front and storm system responsible for the severe weather has moved into the Florida Peninsula, bringing drier air and north winds in its wake.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Chattahoochee Valley may see the hottest weather so far this year coming up for your Sunday. Highs will be well into the mid 90s today under mostly sunny skies. Humidity values won't be too high, so we won't see critically high heat index values. Still, take precautions and stay hydrated if doing anything strenous outdoors during the afternoon hours today.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - After a very pleasant Saturday morning with low temperatures in the 60s with even some mid to upper 50s, the June sun will push high temperatures today into the low to mid 90s. Lows tonight won't be as cool, primarily in the mid to upper 60s. Sunday will be the warmest day of the year so far with highs in the mid 90s areawide. A disturbance will approach our area late Sunday night and arrive Monday morning, bringing a chance for showers and isolated storms.
