Like so many of his family members before him, Brett Sutter will be the head coach of a professional hockey team in Calgary next season. On Friday afternoon, the Calgary Wranglers announced that Sutter will be taking over head coaching duties of their team after spending last season as an assistant coach. Sutter’s dad, Darryl, was the head coach of the Calgary Flames on two separate occasions, while his uncles Brian and Brent also served in the same role.

If the Calgary Flames decide they wanted to move up in the first round of next Friday’s NHL Draft, it might not be as hard as normal to find a willing trade partner this year. That hasn’t generally been the case in recent drafts, as teams have desperately clung on to their first-round picks. No joke, I got drugged at a bar in Manhattan Beach four days before this event. Was terrifying and horrible. The week ended with Ariel Helwani getting his credentials revoked, which caused a legit international storm. Still the craziest week of my career.
