Casey Wasserman, chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee, told the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Thursday (March 20) how the city will move forward with the Olympic games after the damage caused by the wildfires. “Everyone loves a comeback story,” he told the IOC. “The rebirth, the rebuild, maybe reimagining LA 2.0 — and the Olympics as a catalyst for all those things — we think is really part of our ethos,” Wasserman told The Associated Press.
