Chickens flee into woods, weave through traffic after truck rolls over on highway heading into Gravette

GRAVETTE -- A May 7 rollover accident on Arkansas 72 provided an escape opportunity for some chickens being transported by truck in Benton County. A truck carrying crates of live chickens was traveling westbound on the highway heading into the city around 10 a.m. when it toppled over not far from Gravette High School. The accident resulted in some chickens escaping their cages and fleeing into nearby woods.

MCDONALD COUNTY -- The Marshfield Blue Jays defeated the McDonald County Lady Mustangs 4-1 in a varsity soccer match Friday at McDonald County High School Stadium. Marshfield took an early 2-0 lead in the first half, scoring its second goal with 3:08 remaining. The Blue Jays added another goal in the second half with 32:05 left on the clock. McDonald County's Camren Pippin, 14, returned to the field after spraining her ankle in a game against New Heights Christian Academy on Thursday, April 25.

DECATUR -- A new food truck, Sam's Eats & Treats, has opened at the Clean Get-Away Car Wash, located at 241 S. Arkansas 59 in Decatur. Community leaders showed their support for the new venture during a grand opening ceremony on Monday, April 28. MCDONALD COUNTY -- The McDonald County High School Lady Mustangs varsity soccer team defeated New Heights Christian Academy 3-2 in overtime Thursday on senior night. Coach Nathan Haikey was elated as his players scored, including two penalty kicks, to secure the victory after the game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation.
