Hitachi Construction Machinery has announced the development of the LANDCROS Connect Insight solution, which analyses the operational data of mining machinery collected in near-real time to help customers increase the efficiency of their operations. The company plans to deploy this solution through its dealers to mining sites around the world including Australia, Zambia, Chile and the US starting from its 2025 financial year.

Epiroc says it has banked its largest order contract ever with an agreement to supply a large fleet of electric drill rigs to Fortescue Metals for use at the miner’s iron ore operations across the Pilbara. The five-year, circa-SEK2.2 billion ($220 million) contract will see the company deliver both cable-electric Pit Viper 271 E (PV271 E) blasthole drill rigs, as well as battery-electric SmartROC D65 BE drill rigs, starting from next year. More than 50 machines will be supplied.

Epiroc says it has won a large order for underground mining equipment – including trucks and drill rigs – and aftermarket support from Hindustan Zinc Limited in India. Hindustan Zinc Limited, a Vedanta Group company, is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and the world’s third largest silver producer. The company has ordered a fleet of mine trucks as well as rigs for face drilling and production drilling.
