A SEMI dubbed Britain's most haunted house has sold for £250,000 just months after a previous owner fled in terror. The owner claims an unknown presence threw her to the floor when she was heavily pregnant after she bought the house in 2020 from Vanessa Mitchell. Previous owner, Vanessa, had spent 12 years trying to sell the 16th Century house - known as The Cage - after a paranormal barrage. The house sold in 2020 for £240,000 but it was put back on sale for £250,000 in October 2024.

THE trial of an ex-London's Burning actor for alleged child sex offences has been delayed as he is due to be detained under the Mental Health Act. John Alford, who also appeared on Grange Hill, is accused of targeting a girl aged under 16. The 53-year-old - real name John Shannon - is also charged with sexually assaulting a second female. A seven-day trial was due to begin on Monday at St Albans Crown Court but it has been delayed.

A STUDENT nurse died of sepsis after being left waiting in A&E for almost 12 hours, just days after she finished a weekend of long shifts at NHS hospitals, an inquest heard. Zoe Bell, 28, had been taking on extra shifts at hospitals in Buckinghamshire to help finance the last stage of her studies, a coroner was told. The dedicated student, who finished her last 12-hour shift on Sunday, December 18, 2022, began to suffer with a sore throat and struggled to get words out.
