Photography and enhanced Lego robotics camps are among the new offerings at the Boys & Girls of Sonoma Valley Summer Camp this year, and registrations have already started. The camp, which consists of individual camps, will be offered from June 11 to Aug. 1 for all students who are enrolled in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade classes in Sonoma Valley in the 2024-25 school year. Camps generally cost $195 to $375 per week, and scholarships are available.

Eli Smith, a fifth grade student at Prestwood Elementary School, has received a telescope from Robert Ferguson Observatory in Suglarloaf Ridge State Park in Kenwood after being declared a winner in its 40th Annual Striking Sparks competition. He is one of the six winners in the competition, which awards the telescopes to Sonoma County students to promote science education and interest in astronomy.
