For its fifth Juneteenth Celebration, Lexington is expanding events to a week-long celebration of the end of slavery. Juneteenth, also recognized as Emancipation Day, became an official federal holiday in 2021. It celebrates June 19, the day slaves in the United States were legally freed.

ANDERSON -- It’s officially the peak of basketball season for Hoosiers. The Indiana Basketball Board of Directors has announced the 2025 Hall of Fame induction class. Madison County can take a lot of pride in the announcement, with four of the 17 inductees holding ties to the area. Of the four inductees, three called Anderson High School home for different periods. “I think they're all deserving individuals,” said Steve Schindler, Anderson’s current athletic director.
