Cruise ship crew members generally have roommate. That can be a major challenge as even if the roommates work in the same department, they may have different hours. One person could need to get ready while the other is sleeping or one might want to have friends visit when the other wants peace and quiet. Sharing cabins, however, has generally been a part of the cruise ship worker life. Unless you're an officer or a solo musician, pretty much every person has to share.

Most people think anything goes in Las Vegas and on the Las Vegas Strip. The city, of course, has the unofficial nickname “Sin City” because Las Vegas is someplace where you can indulge in lots of sins. For a long time, Las Vegas actually used “What happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas..” That was meant to be a little bit cheeky and to give people permission to do things while on vacation they might not do. Las Vegas wants people to think everything is legal and lots of things are legal.

Craft breweries have been closing all across the United States. You can blame the Covid pandemic, oversaturation, or some combination of the two, but the results have been bleak. "Craft brewers produced 23.1 million barrels of beer in 2024, a 3.9% decrease from 2023. Craft’s market share by volume dropped slightly to 13.3% as the overall U.S. beer market declined by 1.2% in volume," according to the Brewer's Association annual report.

Once a company files Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it can sometimes pretend nothing has happened. A lot of retailers operating under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing don't mention it in their stores or on the homepage of their website. They continue acting as if nothing has happened because that's what's best for business. In many cases, however, that's a bit like knowing you have a serious illness and not mentioning it to family and friends.

Very few executives see the world like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. He was actually a somewhat surprising pick when he was selected to replace Steve Ballmer. But since he got the job in 2014, he has made very few mistakes in a climate that has been rapidly changing. Nadella quickly shifted the company's focus to the cloud, and he has embraced artificial intelligence without making it Microsoft's sole priority. Microsoft is one of the rare companies that has been able to reinvent itself.
