It’s another race on the Amazon Prime swing of the 2025 NASCAR schedule and we head to the Midwest for some high-speed action at Michigan International Speedway! It’s actually been a big week in terms of NASCAR news. Ryan Blaney broke the seal and got the win last week at Nashville. But more importantly, the federal appeals court overturned the preliminary injunction that allowed 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports to race as chartered teams.

The NASCAR Cup Series kicked off the Amazon Prime portion of the TV schedule in style and truthfully, it was everything a NASCAR broadcast should be. I do understand some folks don’t want to pay more to watch races, and to each their own. But the coverage last week was outstanding. The race just felt like it meant more between the in-depth pre-and-post-race coverage.

We’ve made it to arguably one of the best racing days of the year! The Sunday before Memorial Day always delivers plenty of action for fans of motorsports. We kick it off with F1’s Monaco Grand Prix in the morning. After that we head to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 and then at night we get the longest race of the NASCAR season in terms of mileage, the Coca Cola 600. Overall, between all three races we get over 1,200 miles of racing. Hopefully this year isn’t as much of a disappointment.

The NASCAR Cup Series goes from arguably its worst track, to one of the best. If I had my choice, Kansas Speedway would host the NASCAR Cup Series Championship every November. The problem with that? Well, this isn’t exactly a “destination” city. But to that point, NASCAR did announce that Championship weekend will once again be returning to Homestead-Miami in 2026! We only need to endure just one more year of Phoenix! But for this weekend, we do get some great racing.

The NASCAR Cup Series is back following a rather tame race in Talladega last weekend. Sure, there was a modest wreck around lap 40-45 last week with some drivers trying to make it to pit road as others stayed on the track. But other than that, it was a quiet Talladega race that saw Austin Cindric secure his third career win. Now NASCAR goes to Texas Motor Speedway. This is largely regarded as one of the worst tracks on the NASCAR schedule.

“Heat” is pure fucking cinema beginning to end.

This scene in Heat where Ashley Judd subtly tips off Val Kilmer.. and the way Val could communicate so many emotions without saying a word.. One of the saddest scenes of all time. https://t.co/egb0UdZjac
