    Reversing course from a previous decision, the Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) will accept nuclear power in its energy mix, with added revenue from it potentially funding local projects. The Oct. 24 RCEA Board of Directors meeting revisited a debate on whether to accept nuclear energy from the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. Electricity customers statewide and locally are paying for the plant’s operation, which has been extended to at least 2030.

It’s an action that’s likely to be challenged by lawsuits, as indicated by representatives of a Trinidad area mobile home park owner and a mobile home industry association. Made at the Oct. 22 supervisors meeting, the high stakes approval amends the guidelines of Measure V, the Mobile Home Rent Stabilization Ordinance.
