The Los Angeles Rams 2024 season could hardly have begun on a worse note. In LA’s Week 1 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions, star wide receiver Puka Nacua exited the game with a PCL sprain in his right knee. In Week 2, the Rams fortunes hardly improved as they saw their other premiere pass catcher, Cooper Kupp, sustain an injury and exit the game. Kupp’s injury was ultimately ruled an ankle issue and his absence proved costly as the Rams suffered a 41-10 loss at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Los Angeles Rams ended the regular season on a hot streak, winning five of their last six games. The Rams carried that momentum into the postseason and closed out wild card weekend with a dominant 27-9 victory over the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings. The two teams faced off in Arizona due to the wildfires in Los Angeles County, but this proved to be no issue for the Rams. The Los Angeles offense started the game with the ball and scored a touchdown to end the opening drive.

Big Ten men’s basketball is officially underway at USC and the Trojans began conference play with a familiar, former Pac-12 opponent, the No. 12 Oregon Ducks. USC set the tone on the defensive end to begin the game and held Oregon scoreless up until the 17:37 mark of the first half, with the Ducks’ sophomore guard Jackson Shelstad scoring the game’s first basket for either team. The layup was the only points the Ducks scored in the game’s first five minutes.
