Austria has come out on top for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with 436 votes for singer-songwriter JJ, who beat Israel’s Yuval Raphael. This makes the country’s third win following previous victories in 1966 and 2014 – this makes Austria the country with the longest gap between years at 48. The 24-year-old JJ – real name Johannes Pietsch – won Eurovision 2025 with ‘Wasted Love’, a stirring pop song with elements of classical opera. The awards ceremony was held in Basel, Switzerland.

Ronnie Radke has claimed that Brittany Furlan, the estranged wife of Tommy Lee, is threatening him over an alleged affair that he maintains was with a “catfish” – someone else posing as him. The Falling In Reverse frontman shared a video earlier this week clarifying to fans on his official social media pages. “I don’t have a Snapchat,” he said. “I’ve never had a Snapchat guys.”He showed a Snapchat profile pretending to be him, with two posts that feature text that Radke maintains he did not write.

A warning of a “devastating blow” to London culture has been made after campaigners have won a court case that deems Wide Awake, Mighty Hoopla and more “must be cancelled”. Last month (April 22), it was reported that local residents in London had begun crowdfunding for legal action against music festivals held at Brockwell Park that they claimed were “unlawful”. The festivals are held at the venue under Brockwell Live, which is licensed by Lambeth Council.

French rapper Werenoi has died at age 31, just hours before a concert that was scheduled to take place in Lyon, France. Per Charts in France, Werenoi – real name Jérémy Bana Owona – died after being hospitalised, due to going under cardio-respiratory arrest on Saturday morning (May 17) today. Owona had a concert scheduled tonight at Lyon’s Azar Club. Babs, a friend and collaborator of Owona, tweeted earlier today in French: “Rest in peace my brother I love you!!!”.
