As Bayer Leverkusen look to strengthen their squad ahead of challenging Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title next season, the club have reached a verbal agreement with Brentford’s Mark Flekken on a contract until 2028. After spending the last six months on loan at Heidenheim, Bayern Munich have announced the departure of Frans Krätzig (22) to Austrian side RB Salzburg for a reported €3.5m. As reported by Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side retain a buy-back clause in the midfielder, who has signed a contract until 2028. Krätzig played seven games across all competitions for Bayern Munich, and 35 games for the second team.

Bundesliga clubs paid almost €250m to consultants in the 2023/24 season with Bayern Munich leading the way. As per financial figures of the DFL, cited by Kicker, the Rekordmeister paid a staggering €51.195m to agencies, which was followed by Borussia Dortmund (€36.632m), RB Leipzig (€35.216m) and Eintracht Frankfurt (€24.095m).

Florian Plettenberg reports that Sandro Wagner is set to become the new head coach at Augsburg, replacing Jess Thorup. Wagner (37) will leave his role as assistant manager to Julian Nagelsmann following Germany’s participation at the UEFA Nations League finals next month, having previously worked with the U20 national team. Plettenberg further reports that Wagner and Augsburg have reached a final agreement, and that the German will sign a three-year contract until 2028.
