HELENA — No Frontier Conference heptathlete other than Montana Tech’s Abby Clark has crowned themselves champion in the seven-event discipline since the league reinstituted title meets in 2021. Clark, in her final outdoor season, completed the four-peat Saturday inside Vigilante Stadium, building upon a to crack 4,900 total points and vault into second place nationally. Annually, the Trudnowski Open hosted by Carroll College serves as the conference championship for multi events.

HELENA — The second varsity pitch James DeMers saw rocketed from his bat, landing 10 or 15 feet shy of the right field fence fair down the line. When the Helena Capital freshman and Helena Senators two-hole hitter stood on third base, he had his first varsity knock and RBI. “It was really great, especially as a freshman,” DeMers said. “The guys – good support, coaches were really supportive. Saturday, senior Abby Clark chases her best men’s basketball impersonation following a 2,933-point Day 1 at the 2025 Trudnowski Open that serves as the Frontier Conference’s championship in the 10-event decathlon and seven-event heptathlon. “I’m a veteran, so I’m trusting I can put together a good multi, still win the conference, and still qualify for nationals, even if I might not be feeling the best on Day 1,” Clark said.
