It’s Australia’s turn this weekend to go hands-on with the Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Melbourne takes place this weekend, May 10th and 11th. If you have a ticket, you probably already know your session time — and if you’re just reading this now, sorry, the chance to get in has long passed. If you are going, arrive a little early as things will be busy, and don’t forget to bring your QR code from your Nintendo Account.

If you managed to catch the Thursday night AFL game, you might have seen Nintendo kick off its marketing for the Switch 2 in Australia in earnest (this guy did), with signage at Optus Stadium showcasing the Switch 2 during the game. Now, the AFL connection continues with the first local advert for the Switch 2 featuring AFL players Patrick Cripps, Marcus Bontempelli and not-AFL player Andy Lee.

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct last month, we finally got word that Deltarune will be releasing on the console alongside all other platforms — including the original Switch, other consoles, and PC — on June 5th. Due to a quirk with release timing, we in Australia will be getting it first — more on that in a second. Deltarune, now complete with all four chapters, will be the first cross-buy game on Nintendo Switch consoles.

Nintendo has been releasing a new piece of Nintendo Switch 2 information each day through their new Nintendo Today! app since the Nintendo Direct last month. Usually, it’s been a 3D render of the console, controllers, or accessories. Today, it’s something a little different: all the new icons you’ll be able to choose from for your user profile. There will now be 258 different icons to choose from—an increase of 111 over the original Switch.
